Detroit’s Tomas Holmstrom got a surprise at practice yesterday. Red Wings center Henrik Zetterberg rode onto the ice on a new snowmobile, which had Holmstrom’s No. 96 painted on the side and a sign informing Holmstrom the gift was for reaching 1,000 career games. “For sure, that was nice of the boys to do,” Holmstrom said.
